The Western Loudoun Volleyball Club, based in Purcellville, recently held its annual “Certapalooza” scrimmage program, and donated 200 pounds of food to Loudoun Interfaith Relief and the Loudoun County Animal Services Pet Pantry.
Certapalooza is a day-long series of inter-squad scrimmages that allows players to be certified for both scorekeeping and refereeing. WLVBC has six teams comprised of U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18 for girls, and a U14 for boys. This year’s event was held Dec. 12 at Patrick Henry College.
The Western Loudoun VBC motto is ‘when we serve well, good things happen,’ and this year’s food drive is a great example of living that motto as we had fun playing a game we love, but also giving back to the community we live in,” WLVBC Director Matt Croson stated.
