You’ll not often find a celebratory atmosphere in the children’s emergency room, but there will be a party at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne on Saturday, May 14.
The hospital’s administrators and staff will mark the 10th anniversary of the kid-centric service with tours and special activities from 1 to 4 p.m.
The center was designed to meet the needs of kids, especially those who aren’t feeling well. Special touches range from the child-size wheelchairs to the large-scale climb-on toys in the waiting room.
Visitors on Saturday can tour the ER, an ambulance and a helicopter; spend time in a petting zoo or moon bounce; get a glitter tattoo; or bring a stuffed toy to the Teddy Bear Clinic in the Mobile Health Services bus.
Children under 12 will receive a PlayTape while supplies last.
