The Woodgrove High School Varisty Gymnastics team is set to begin its competition season Wednesday night at Loudoun Valley High School.
The team is led by Coach Margie Barnes and team captains, seniors Kaycee Delitta and Sarah Snare. Returning members junior Lauren Sutara and sophomores Dani Kimbrough and Erin Ramsey are joined by newcomers sophomore River Stone and freshmen Erin Keane and Jodi Snare.
The Woodgrove squad was runner up in last season’s conference finals and competed at the regional competition. Snare went on to compete in individual competition in vault and floor at the state level.
At the Valley meet, which begins at 6:30 p.m., the team will face Riverside, Park View, and Loudoun Valley. Woodgrove will travel to Park View and Freedom High School for meets later in December and will host a home meet on Jan. 5. The team will also compete in Nokesville at the Flip for a Cure Invitational on Dec. 10.
