Visit Loudoun, the county’s tourism bureau, is looking for individuals to serve three-year terms on its board of directors starting July 1.
Résumés must be received by March 3. The new board will be elected by Visit Loudoun’s dues-paying members during the Visit Loudoun Annual Meeting and Tourism Awards Luncheon on May 11. There will be a transition period for new board members starting in May.
Visit Loudoun is a not-for-profit organization that serves as the destination management organization for Loudoun County and its incorporated towns. It promotes the county as a tourism destination, leads the tourism industry to work together to increase visitation and visitor spending, and provides convention and visitor services.
The board is comprised of up to 24 elected members whose terms are staggered.
Interested candidates should submit a résumé outlining their business/professional career, including any tourism-related experience. Special business skills such as communications and community involvement should also be included. Three business references are requested. Also, candidates should provide up to a one-page response to the statement: “My service on the Visit Loudoun Board of Directors will help Visit Loudoun and tourism in Loudoun County because …”
