The largest collection held by Leesburg’s Thomas Balch Library preserves the papers and artifacts of the Charles A. Johnston family. On Sunday, residents and researchers can find out more about how the material provides a glimpse into Leesburg life during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
Starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, Ben Tayloe, project archivist of the collection, will introduce the public to the manuscript materials, rare books, photographs and film; and highlight the ways in which researchers will benefit from the collection.
Library programs are held in the downstairs meeting room and are free unless otherwise noted. Because of limited seating advanced registration is recommend by calling 703/737-7195 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thomas Balch Library is located at 208 W. Market St.
