Loudoun County Public Schools will hold a community information meeting tonight to provide an update on plans to build a new high school (HS-9) and elementary school (ES-29) on 151.5 acres south of Braddock Road.
The meeting will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of John Champe High School, at 41535 Sacred Mountain St. in Aldie.
School planners will present changes that have been made to the project designs following a community meeting held Jan. 25.
HS-9 is slated to have a capacity of 1,800 students on a campus that will include a stadium, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, track facilities and two unlit physical education fields. It is scheduled to open in the 2020.
ES-29 is designed as a two-story building with a capacity of 928 students and recreational facilities, including softball and all-purpose fields. It is scheduled to open in 2023.
Also on the tract is a 30-acre site planned for other public uses to be decided by the Board of Supervisors.
