Editor: Regarding the April 6 article about the more than $5 million the schools won’t get this year, perhaps the schools can use that surplus they “found” from last year’s budget.
It continues to astound me that both the School Board and the Board of Supervisors keeping “finding” money at the end of the year and instead of returning it to the taxpayers or putting it toward the next year’s budget, they use it as if it were theirs to do with as they wish.
Let us not forget that the supervisors “found” millions of excess unspent money in the school budget (see Loudoun Now March 23-29, issue.)
C’mon Folks, pay attention. This is your money. We’re talking millions.
