Update: The second child found unconscious in a Sterling pool on Saturday morning has died. The 2-year-old boy was undergoing treatment at Inova Fairfax Hospital and had been listed in critical condition. He died early Monday morning.
His twin sister died Saturday after being found unconscious in a backyard pool at a Sterling home, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the Acorn Court home at 10:43 a.m. to assist rescue crews.
The children were discovered unconscious in the pool by a family member. They were taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital, where the girl died. The boy was transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The incident remains under investigation, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
