This year’s Don Sandros Fall Energy Summit will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at the George Washington University Ashburn campus.
Matthew Hansen, of the University of Maryland, Department of Geographical Sciences, will be the guest speaker, discussing how land cover and land use change significantly altering earth systems ranging from climate change to biodiversity loss. He will describe how mapping of land cover change enables better informed approaches to natural resource management, as well as information for other scientist modeling carbon, climate, or hydrological systems.
In its 11th year, the event also will include displays by alternatives energy vendors.
It is sponsored by Sustainable Loudoun, Rehau, GWU, Solar Solutions for All, Corcoran Vineyard, 350 Loudoun, and the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
