StoneSprings Hospital Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain Certification.
“Our team’s goal is to save lives and prevent the devastating effects of heart disease in our community,” stated Dr. Tarek Abou-Ghazala, chairman of the Department of Medicine. “Receiving this certification reinforces our commitment to the highest standards of care when treating patients who experience chest pain or other symptoms of a heart attack.”
StoneSprings Hospital Center underwent an on-site review Nov. 21 when Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards as well as with chest-pain-specific requirements. Clinical practice guidelines and performance measures also were assessed.
“We are so pleased to receive the Chest Pain Certification from The Joint Commission,” stated CEO Lance Jones. “Our cardiac and emergency physicians and associates are highly trained and ready for every possible circumstance. This certification reinforces that our community is in excellent hands. This further supports our Stroke Certification obtained in July and our commitment to our community.”
