Those assembling floats for the town’s annual Christmas and Holiday Parade on Saturday may want to add a few more strings of lights.
The town is offering a new award this year, the Holiday In Lights trophy, sponsored by Loudoun Now. Entrants will be judged in the parade staging area before the parade. The trophy will be awarded to the best overall light-decorated float. The winner will have their name engraved on the trophy, which will be displayed at Town Hall.
The parade takes place on King Street, between Ida Lee Park and Fairfax Street, on Saturday, Dec. 9, beginning at 6 p.m. and includes Santa and his friends, community groups, and businesses, to name a few. Parade participation is open to the public including businesses, civic groups, teams, organizations and community groups. King Street will close to traffic along the parade route beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9.
