Year in Review: Loudoun Brewers Got Organized

Loudoun County’s booming craft brewing scene is famously close and collaborative, but in January of this year they made it official. Many of those brewers were at a meeting at Ocelot Brewing Company to approve the charter of the new Loudoun County Brewers Association.

LCBA Chairman Chris Burns, of Old Ox Brewery, said the first spark of the association began at another collaborative tradition among Loudoun brewers, the LoCo Brewfest. The LCBA is meant to help brewers share information and learn from each other in a more organized way, also helped organized the breweries’ annual collaborative brew in February.

Members of the newly formed LCBA credited the Loudoun Wineries Association for guidance on their bylaws, and Visit Loudoun for bringing them all together at the first LoCo Brewfest.
