Morse Reelected Loudoun School Board Chairman

Jeff Morse was reappointed chairman of the Loudoun County School Board in a unanimous vote of his board colleagues Tuesday.

This will be Morse’s second year leading the board. He represents the Dulles District and is in his second four-year term on the board.

Morse thanked his fellow board members for trusting him to take the helm for a second year. “I will continue to do the job to the best of my ability,” he said.

Board members also unanimously voted to appoint Brenda Sheridan (Sterling) as vice chairwoman for a second year.

Before that vote, though, board member Tom Marshall (Leesburg) nominated Beth Huck (At Large) for the post.

“Are you interested in serving as vice chair,” Morse asked.

“No,” Huck said with a smile.

Marshall later supported Sheridan for vice chairwoman.

The board also selected Sheridan as its Virginia School Board Association delegate, and Huck as its alternate.

Morse will announce any changes in committee assignments at the Jan. 23 meeting.
