The Leesburg Police Department has made an arrest in a 2015 assault in which a teen was struck in the neck with a hammer and left paralyzed.
Bradford Cellucci, 25, was arrested last week in Tyler, TX. A special grand jury in Loudoun had issued an indictment on a charge aggravated malicious assault in the case. He is awaiting extradition proceedings and will transported to Loudoun County for trial.
According to the police department, the assault occurred July 28, 2015, at the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets. The 18-year-old victim was an employee at a store who was helping the suspect with a clothing purchase. While being escorted to the fitting room, the suspect hit the employee with the claw side of a hammer, puncturing his neck. The suspect then fled.
The department declined to comment on details that led to Cellucci’s arrest in the case. He will appear in Loudoun Circuit Court for arraignment and scheduling following his transport from Texas.
