It has been a dark, cold couple of days for thousands of Loudoun residents—and a costly weekend for many businesses that were forced to close—but utility crews are hoping that power will be fully restored by tomorrow.
As of Monday afternoon, Dominion Energy was reporting 2,271 Loudoun customers without power and NOVEC had restored power to all but 53 customers. A the height of the nor’easter on Friday and Saturday, more than 15,000 homes and businesses were without power.
Gov. Ralph Northam declared a statewide state of emergency in response to the widespread damage caused by the storm. Wind gusts in excess of 65 mile per hour were measured at Dulles Airport on Friday morning.
