After two months of renovations, the former Palio’s restaurant will reopen next week under new management and with a familiar chef in the kitchen.
Casa Nostra is led by David Saavedra, the former general manager at Palio Steak and Seafood Restaurant. He’s is teaming up with chef William Walden to offer authentic Italian cuisine in the space at 2 W. Market St.
Walden brings more than 35 years of experience and a refined approach to classic Italian and continental cuisine to the venture. He has served as the chef de cuisine at L’Auberge Chez François, executive chef at Goodstone Inn and Restaurant, and owned and operated La Fleur de Lis in Lovettsville. At Casa Nostra, specialties will include antipasti, beef tenderloin, veal saltimbocca and salt-crusted branzino, with made-from-scratch pasta, meticulously sourced seafood, and bread baked fresh daily.
The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 13. A reception will follow, featuring a selection of tasting portions from the restaurant’s menu.
Starting Tuesday, the restaurant will be open Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
