An Ashburn man has been arrested in connection with two Saturday morning robberies in the Dulles South area.
Eugene Copeland, 34, was taken into custody Sunday and has been charged with two counts of robbery.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:40 a.m. March 24, a man entered the Sunoco A-Plus store on Defender Drive. He walked into the employee office and took an employee to the front registers. The suspect implied that he had a handgun and demanded cash. The man stole cash and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
Less than 40 minutes later, the deputies responded to another store robbery on Pinebrook Drive. The same suspect entered the store, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash. Again he left with cash.
Copeland was identified as the suspect and was apprehended Sunday morning. Copeland was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
