Ashburn’s ‘Idol’ Contestant Gets No Air Time, but Still in Big Time

Fans of Ashburn singer Brandon Diaz, no doubt, were disappointed not to see him on American Idol’s important Hollywood Week performances that aired Monday night.

The episode showed the judges paring down the 160 contestants who, like Diaz, were presented “golden tickets” during regional tryouts last summer allowing them to join the competition in Los Angeles. Diaz did not appear the footage of two rounds contestant cuts, leaving the impression that he was out of the competition.

Fear not and stay tuned. That was the message posted on Diaz’s Facebook page Monday night.

“HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! I want to tell you all that even though you didn’t see me, I DID make it through group rounds! Please, please keep watching next week to see where this journey takes me. I love you all and you don’t know how much your endless love and support means to me 🙏 hang in there guys, we got this ♥️,” he wrote.

So rest assured, the nation hasn’t seen the last of the 21-year-old son of a Cuban immigrant father and Briar Woods High School graduate.
