Update: Authorities Find Missing Sterling Man in Park

Update: After tips from the community, Noah C. Brechbiel was found Monday morning by members of the Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team.

Area residents reported seeing Brechbiel in Claude Moore Park in Sterling during the weekend. A search of the area began Sunday and continued this morning with the use of ATVs and the Sheriff’s Office’s drone.

He was found by deputies on ATVs on a trail in a wooded area of the park and was taken to a local hospital by rescue personnel for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a missing Sterling man.

Noah C. Brechbiel, 82, who may have a cognitive impairment, was last seen Friday around 5 p.m. in the area of the 22300 block of Enterprise Street. He is 6-fee tall with a full grey beard and was last seen wearing a green jacket, a plaid long-sleeve shirt and a baseball knit cap. He was reported missing to authorities Sunday afternoon.

In previous cases, Brechbiel has traveled along Rt. 7 to areas as far as away as Purcellville and Alexandria. He is also known to take walks on the W&OD Trail.
