Photo Gallery: Emergency Preparedness Training at Dulles

Fire and rescue crews from around the region gathered a Dulles Airport this morning to hone their response and communication skilled at the site of a simulated plane crash.

An area near Dulles’ Runway 1 Right was converted to a training zone where response teams practiced all elements of response to such an incident, from the initial fire suppression, to the triage and treatment of mass casualty patents at the scene and their transport to area hospitals, and even the reunification of survivors with families and friends. The operation is conducted every three years.
