Lansdowne Resort and Spa, a Destination Hotel, has unveiled plans to expand its amenities to the Potomac River, making the hospitality complex a water sports destination.
In collaboration with Fish and Explore, the Adventures at Lansdowne program includes kayaking, fly and spin fishing, and river fishing.
“The Potomac River was once a major gateway to travel in the region. Given the resort’s location on the banks of the Potomac River, we have seen an increase in the number of guests who want to enjoy activities on the water including kayaking, fly-fishing and stand-up paddle,” said Mark Jennings, senior vice president of East Coast Operations of Two Roads Hospitality. “We are very excited about this expansion of resort amenities, as it enables us to appeal to a wider spectrum of guests, provide additional activities to our guests, members and locals, and continue our mission to enrich lives.”
Lansdowne Resort’s new water sports menu features a variety of activities that guests may select from including flat water paddling programs focused on history, nature or relaxation, guided kayak fishing expeditions, or fishing lessons. Each excursion is led by a Fish and Explore certified guide. Class sizes range from groups of four to up to 30 people.
This summer, the resort is offering a special package, Summers on the Potomac, to celebrate the launch with overnight accommodations, a guided kayaking activity for two, packed snacks to enjoy on the water, and a guided hike along the Potomac River.
