Leesburg Man Barricades Self, Threatens Suicide

Leesburg police officers responded to a house Thursday where a man had barricaded himself inside and threatened suicide if police approached.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, police were called to a home in the 400 block of Lilac Terrace NE in Leesburg. The caller told them a man was inside and threatening to harm himself. According to police, the man, 46-year-old Jason Tally, was alone in the home, and threatened to harm himself if police came inside.

Police tried several times to get the man to come outside and surrender, but he refused and barricaded himself inside the home. After several hours of negotiations, Tally surrendered without incident.

He was subsequently taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $2,000 unsecured bond. Tally had two domestic assault warrants stemming from an incident the day before.
