Thomas Kuehhas has resigned his position as executive director of the Waterford Foundation.
In a statement released Tuesday, the foundation’s board of directors said Kuehhas arrived on the job at a critical time in 2015 and helped to put the organization on more solid footing.
“Tom was dedicated to our preservation and education mission for four years. He was instrumental in securing a lifesaving grant from the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors after the cancellation of the 2015 Fair. Tom also worked to develop new initiatives, including the Waterford Craft School and the September 2017 African American Heritage Day,” the board stated. “Tom’s work has put the Foundation on a track toward a more stable future. We are grateful for his commitment to the Foundation and to the Waterford community and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
As the board begins the search for a new director, Stephanie Thompson has been appointed interim executive director. She resigned her position as board president, a role that will be filled by Vice President Joe Goode. Board member Jonathan Daniel will move up to vice president.
