West Appointed as Acting Town Manager in Lovettsville

For the third time since May 2017, the Town of Lovettsville has a new individual acting in the role of town manager.

The Town Council last Thursday night voted unanimously to appoint Assistant Town Manager Harriet West as acting town manager until a replacement is hired in the coming months. The decision to appoint West to the role came just one day before Sam Finz stepped down as town manager, following a seven-month stint in the role. Before that, Finz was a key part of the town’s government operations for 13 years, formerly serving as the interim town manager on three different occasions. “[West] has probably the broadest knowledge of most of the staff people here in terms of running the town,” Finz said.

The town is now prepared to advertise a recruitment package for the open position.
