Armed Robber Hits 2 Loudoun Stores Overnight

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in two early morning robberies.

Shortly after midnight July 25, a man entered the 7-Eleven store on South Cottage Road in Sterling. He presented cash to make a purchase, but as the employee opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter. The employee attempted to stop the suspect and was struck in the face by a handgun. The suspect stole cash and fled on foot. The clerk was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

At approximately 3 a.m., deputies were called to the  Sunoco convenience store on Defender Drive for a report of another robbery. The same suspect entered the store and attempted to make a purchase with cash. The cashier opened the register and the suspect reached over the counter. The employee attempted to stop the suspect, but the he was able to take cash and fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks. He is approximately 30 to 40-years-old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage long sleeve shirt, black pants and a brown bandana around his head.

Detectives are asking that anyone who can help identify the suspect to contact Detective R. Reed at 703-777-1021. You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app.
