Marshall Lee Bettis, 96, of Leesburg, VA, passed on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
The eldest of nine children born to the late Clarence Bettis and Grace Gray Bettis.
Marshall was born on March 6, 1922, and raised in Western Loudoun County.
Mr. Bettis served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII.
He retired after 46 years from the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, as a bus driver.
He and his wife, of over 60 years, the late Hilda Slack Bettis lived in Falls Church.After her death he moved back to Leesburg to be closer to his family.
Marshall leaves his family to cherish his memory including his three sisters Jane, Pearl, and Alice as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy and Jean, and brothers, Charles, Johnny, and Edward.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11am.
A reception will follow the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in Union Cemetery.
