HUBZONE: “hire employees from economically disadvantaged areas” and “businesses in historically underutilized business zones”. Expanding the Hubzone is a disgrace to Leesburg and it’s leadership. Leesburg population should be shrinking it’s disadvantaged numbers. Under 14 years of liberal management at the Mayor and Town Manager offices Leesburg is going backwards. Sure it’s nice there is a program to help the disadvantaged. But the disadvantaged should be disappearing as a result of well managed success planning in the largest Town in Virginia and the richest County in the Country. Instead you have GMU and Town staff along with a know nothing Council and weak Supervisor patting each other on the back for increasing disadvantaged employees and unused business areas. Score another one for the A Team!

Looking at the map, it is interesting that people that are moving into brand new $750k townhomes in Leesburg are in a HUBzone. Interesting and farcical.

Frankly, this Leesburg HUBzone makes a mockery of the program.
