Birkby House Expansion Gets BAR Green Light

Plans to build an aluminum and glass conservatory at the Birkby House wedding and event venue on West Loudoun Street got a conceptual approval from Leesburg’s Board of Architectural Review.

The building will replace a large tent that has been used on the property for many years. Board members Monday night told architect Clint Good that they still had some concerns about fine design points, but signed off most aspects of the structure. The project still has to undergo site plan review and will then return to the BAR for a final sign-off.
