Loudoun’s first Trader Joe’s will open in One Loudoun Thursday. Sept. 6, the company announced today.
The store will open for business Thursday morning with a ceremonial lei cutting at 8 a.m. The grand opening celebration is scheduled to continue throughout the day with live music, food tastings, and giveaways.
It will be Trader Joe’s 14th location in Virginia, with murals to pay tribute to local landmarks and highlight the “outdoor spirit of Loudon County.” The store will be open form 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The store will open in the space formerly occupied by Fresh Market at 44755 Brimfield Drive.
The store will also be holding a hiring event this weekend, August 11 and 12.
Trader Joe’s was founded in 1958 in the Los Angeles area. Since then, Trader Joe’s has expanded from one store to more than 479 stores in 41 states and Washington, DC.
