Following a one-year hiatus, a parade of motorcycles organized by Loudoun-bases America’s 9/11 Foundation roared through Leesburg this afternoon.
Participants in the ride visit the three sites impacted by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001—the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA; the World Trade Center site in New York City; and the Pentagon in Arlington. It’s an event that for 15 years attracted thousands of riders and current and former law enforcement officers.
A highlight of the ride is passing under the large American flag hung from fire trucks before entering the spectator-lined streets in downtown Leesburg.
