Saturday’s sunshine and light breeze made for the perfect weather for Leesburg’s World Heritage and Kite Festival.
Hundreds of people gathered at Ida Lee Park throughout the afternoon to fly kites, enjoy international food, and live entertainment.
Yohana Djuanda spent the day flying a kite with her son and daughter, Ahmad and Maryam. She said she was really into flying kites when she was a little kid but hadn’t done it in years.
“I feel like a kid again,” she said as she guided the kite through the sky.
The festival also included cultural performances, a beer tent, and vendors selling everything from clothes and jewelry to — what else — kites.
