The Loudoun Literacy Council’s evening of spelling, trivia and drinks will head to Sterling Thursday, August 30 at Twinpanzee Brewing Company.
Last year, Buzzed at the Bee’s inaugural spelling contest packed the house at Leesburg Brewing Company and raised more than $1,500 for Loudoun Literacy, a nonprofit that provides free and low-cost English courses, as well as one-on-one tutoring, to individuals and families. It led to a follow-up bee in Ashburn before Loudoun Literacy’s big annual fundraiser, the Not-Your-Kid’s Spelling Bee in October, which raised about $17,500 for the nonprofit.
This year, Buzzed at the Bee is making a tour of Loudoun breweries, with its next stop at Twinpanzee. It is co-hosted by Mason Enterprise Center Small Business Development Center Manager and Lead Business Advisor Eric Byrd and Loudoun Now reporter and host of the Morning Minute podcast Renss Greene.
The bee starts at 7 p.m. at 101 Executive Drive, Suite D, in Sterling. Tickets are $20 at the door and include a drink and a chance to win prizes, including two tickets to this year’s Not-Your-Kid’s Spelling Bee worth $100. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
