A community meeting regarding the planned widening of the Leesburg Bypass is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18.
From 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, residents will receive an update on the project, which would widen the bypass from four to six lanes, with three lanes in each direction, between the Dulles Greenway and West Market Street interchanges.
In January, the Board of Supervisors received a Rt. 7 Capacity Study that introduced the idea of an eight-lane project, with four lanes in each direction. The board directed the staff to study the issue, and a report back is expected in early 2019.
The community briefing has been organized at the request of Leesburg District Supervisor Kristen Umstattd (D). The capacity study can be found online at loudounnow.com/bypassproject.
