Editor: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. That’s how I feel about Virginia’s 10thCongressional District.
The incumbent Congresswoman Barbara Comstock has proved to be an asset to the position. During her two terms as my representative she has shown her support for our country and the constitutes of her district. Yes Mrs. Comstock is a Republican, however she has shown her support for the federal employee by speaking up and telling Mr. Trump that he is wrong on both the threaten shout down of the government and on the pending raise. She has also supported federal employees by introducing legislation that would bring the amount of leave, upon the birth or adoption of a child in line with standard business practices.
Additionally, she has worked with her fellow Congressional colleagues to pass the Right to Try Act. This Act allows patients to try treatments that have passed FDA safety testing, but not received final approval, giving them more flexibility determining their care.
Rep. Comstock demonstrated her support of our law enforcement by developing the Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant Program Authorization Act providing funds to gang task forces in an effort to stop the rise in gang activity, and hopefully stop some of the everyday gun violence. As a result, she has the support of law enforcement offices throughout the state of Virginia and the rest of the country. She has also worked with her fellow members of Congress to pass an anti-hate crime resolution. This resolution asks that the local communities and law enforcement agencies, local and federal remain vigilant to these crimes.
Why am I writing this letter, because I am a Vietnam Veteran and retired federal employee that wants to see our country stay great. I believe that Rep Comstock shows her concern for our country and her constitutes very day by her actions.
