A Maryland man and a Virginia woman have been charged in connection with a series of armed robberies targeting 7-Eleven stores in Northern Virginia.
The suspects were identified through a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving the Leesburg Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfax County Police Department.
In Loudoun County, Carlton L. Frye, III, 22, of Lanham, MD, was charged Monday, with two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a robbery. The charges are connected to the Sept. 3 robberies of the 7-Eleven stores on Dry Mill Road in Leesburg and on Woodshire Drive in Sterling.
He is charged in Fairfax County with one count of robbery and one count of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the Aug. 28 robbery of the 7-Eleven located on Soapstone Drive in Reston.
Frye was apprehended in Maryland on Monday night and remains held in Prince George’s County pending extradition to Virginia.
Suspected accomplice Zakiyyah H. Vickers, 21, of Woodbridge, was arrested Oct. 11 and charged in connection with three robberies in Loudoun County on Sept. 3. She was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
Additional charges are expected in both Fairfax County and Loudoun County.
