The Loudoun County School Board will interview eight candidates tonight for its vacant Catoctin District seat.
The board will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. during which it will interview potential candidates for the seat and take public comment on the candidates. The meeting will take place in the School Board meeting room of the Loudoun County Public Schools Administrative Offices, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.
The eight candidates are (click on each candidate’s name to see his or her statement of interest): Jenna Alexander, John Beatty, Chris Croll, Taylor Gurunlian, Zerell Johnson-Welch, Mark Miller, Robert Ohneiser, and Amy Tribié.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, the School Board is scheduled to appoint a member to fill the seat prior to a scheduled public hearing on the Waxpool Elementary attendance boundary. The person appointed to the Catoctin District seat will serve until the term expires Dec. 31, 2019.
The seat has been vacant since Oct. 26, when Eric DeKenipp resigned with 14 months left of his term.
