Middleburg Celebrates a Rainy Christmas Season

The Town of Middleburg didn’t let a cold rain stop its annual Christmas in Middleburg celebration, or the town’s annual parade.

The festivities began with a tree lighting Friday afternoon. That was followed by breakfast with Santa and a silent auction at Middleburg Charter School, at the Middleburg Community Center, the Middleburg Hunt and Hounds Review, and as the morning rain let up, the centerpiece of the day: the mile-long Christmas parade down Washington Street.

Despite the cold, wet conditions, hundreds of people lined up to see horse riders, school bands, law enforcement, local businesses, and community organizations walk, ride, and march the route. Police departments from around Virginia again came to help the Middleburg Police Department direct traffic and the parade.

What is wrong with using animals? Especially horses – Middleburg is an equestrian community.
