Doris Kidder is the new chairwoman of Leesburg’s Planning Commission.
Kidder received the unanimous support of her fellow commissioners during Thursday’s meeting. She is the second longest-serving member of the commission, trailing only Ad Barnes. Kidder was first appointed to the commission in 2008.
New commissioner Kari Nacy was elected, also unanimously, as the commission’s vice chairwoman. Nacy recently ran in her first Town Council race, but fell short of securing a council seat in November’s election. Councilwoman Suzanne Fox nominated her for appointment to the commission, and Thursday was Nacy’s first meeting.
Commissioner Rick Lanham was again elected commission parliamentarian. Lanham has been a member of the commission since 2017.
