GOP Taps Nelson for 86th House District Special Election

Republicans in the 86thHouse District on Saturday elected Gregg Nelson as their nominee in next month’s special election to fill the vacant seat.

The selection was made during a mass meeting held at Fairfax Christian School in Dulles. Nelson will face Democrat Ibraheem Samirah in the Feb. 19 election to fill the remaining 10 months of Jennifer Boysko’s term. Boysko was elected to the 33rdDistrict Senate seat earlier this month.

Nelson is a U.S. Air Force veteran who later worked in the federal government. He owns a small business focused on natural disaster damage assessment. He lives in the Fox Mill neighborhood of Fairfax County.

“I’m honored to accept the Republican nomination for the House of Delegates,” Nelson stated. “For too long, the rights and interests of ordinary citizens have been ignored. I’m running to give the hardworking men and women of our district a voice in Richmond.”

The 86thDistrict includes the western edge of Fairfax County and a portion of Sterling in Loudoun County.

Imagine if you will a candidate that is willing to work on the state level without aspirations to higher office. A multi task can do man responsible for financial deadlines and quality products. As in the Air Force he never asked if something was for democrats or republicans he just got the job done that’s what we get by electing Gregg Nelson!
