Loudoun United Wins First Scrimmage

Loudoun United FC held its first ever scrimmage on Thursday at Evergreen Sportsplex near Leesburg.

The newly formed United Soccer League Championship team beat Bethlehem Steel FC 2-1 in its first preseason game, sending Bethlehem’s preseason record down to 0-2.

Loudoun United FC’s first game of the season will be against Nashville SC on Saturday, March 9 at First Tennessee Park. The next time the team plays Bethlehem Steel SC will be on May 3. With a Loudoun stadium still under construction, that game will be played at a yet-to-be-determined venue.

The first game in the new 5,000-seat stadium, located at Bolen Park near Leesburg, is expected to be played against Charlotte Independence on Aug. 9.
