Buzzed at the Bee, Loudoun Literacy Council’s evening of spelling, trivia and drinks will head to Black Hoof Brewing Company in Leesburg this Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.
This year, Buzzed at the Bee is making a tour of Loudoun breweries and restaurants, with stops on the last Thursday of each month leading up to the grand Not-Your-Kid’s spelling Bee in October. Black Hoof Brewing is the second stop, and the first in downtown Leesburg.
“Local education is an area of community focus for Black Hoof; [we] help to sponsor initiatives including Great Beginnings Preschool in Leesburg and the Loudoun Education Foundation,” said Black Hoof owner and head brewer Bill Haase. “The team at Black Hoof is excited to be a small part of the Literacy Council’s efforts to change lives through literacy!”
Eric Byrd of the Mason Enterprise Center Small Business Development Center and Renss Greene of Loudoun Now will quiz contestants at a grown-up spelling bee and trivia night. It’s free to attend and heckle your friends, and $20 to participate for a chance at prizes and spelling and trivia glory. All proceeds benefit Loudoun Literacy Council, which works to improve the lives of the 32,000 Loudouners who struggle with the English language with classes for both children and adults.
The next stop: Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn, on March 28.
Black Hoof Brewing Company is at 11 S. King Street in Leesburg. See more at facebook.com/events/2001342489915621/.
