Lassiter Way Marks Lifetime of Service

The life-long community contributions Nelson “Mutt” Lassiter were celebrated Saturday as town leaders unveiled a downtown street named in his honor.

Lassiter Way is the new name of the Town Hall campus alley that connected two important locations in his life. Lassiter was born in the original Loudoun hospital building at the end of the alley on West Market Street and spent five decades running Robinson’s Barber Shop on the Loudoun Street side, retiring last year.

During Saturday’s ceremony led by Mayor Kelly Burk, Lassiter touted by family and community members as an important mentor who worked to help others.
