Applications for Loudoun Youth, Inc.’s 2019 Loudoun Youth Leadership Program are open until Monday, March 4.
The Loudoun Youth Leadership Program is a week-long programdesigned to introduce youth to leadership concepts and let them interact with local business, government and community leaders. The program is open to all high school students, public or private, in Loudoun County.
People taking part in the sessions will spend time in a variety of settings, from learning leadership skills in a classroom setting to observing leadership in action with business and civic leaders from around the county, as well as taking part in active, hands-on team building.
“Every year we’ve seen the youth involved grow and gain confidence as they explore the different opportunities they are given,” said Steve Wolfson, Executive Director of Loudoun Youth, Inc. “This program exposes the county’s youth to important concepts such as teamwork, leadership and the kinds of challenges that face the county as well as gives them the tools to get involved and make a difference. What they learn in this one week will help set them apart as they go on to further their education and begin their careers.”
Applications and program information can be found at loudounyouth.org. Tuition is $450 per student. Financial aid is available to qualifying students.
The class is limited to 26 youth per week to encourage team building and to provide a genuine experience in a small group setting. This year’s Loudoun Youth Leadership Program sessions run from July 8 -12 and July 29 – Aug. 2.
Loudoun Youth, Inc. was established in April 2005. The mission of the organization is to coordinate community resources to assist in the development of youth programs and to create leadership opportunities for young people.
