The Falcons Landing MOAA Chapter hosted its quarterly meeting April 16 featuring U.S. Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA-10). The meeting was an opportunity to provide the approximately 200 members of the chapter with an update on the activities of MOAA and the chapter as well as having an opportunity to meet the new district representative.
Hosted by Chapter President Bob Manning, the officers and board of directors and assisted by Falcons Landing, the meeting began with a remembrance of the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech 12 years ago.
Afterward, Manning highlighted the chapter programs designed to support those serving in the armed forces and those who have served and those who have survived. Chapter Legislative Representative Clair Wylie provided members with updates on key legislative initiatives supported by MOAA including for 2020 budget plans for the military.
