The Purcellville Town Council has called a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday to learn more about the space needs of its police department and to tour a possible new location for its headquarters.
According to the announcement, the council plans to convene the meeting in the Council Chambers, but then recess and travel to the current police department headquarters at 125 Hirst Road, Unit 7-A to examine the state of operations there. They then plan to travel to and tour a potential site for an interim police headquarters. That location has not been disclosed to the public.
Mayor Kwasi Fraser said on Friday that Town Manager David Mekarski would not provide council members with the location’s address until this week because making the location public would compromise potential negotiations with the property owners.
Fraser said he was looking forward to visiting the site and that he’s “going in there not knowing what to expect.”
