Letter: Anthony V. Fasolo, Leesburg

Editor:  This responds the Letter to the Editor by Rose Ellen Ray in which she found fault with my earlier comments about the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential elections.

I stand by my comments and can only quote what Special Counsel Mueller said on May 29, that if his team “… had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.”

He also noted that he was prohibited from bringing charges against the president because of long standing Justice Department policy that a sitting president cannot be indicted.

But the biggest takeaway is that Mueller agrees with our intelligence community, that Russia did try to interfere in our voting system with the intention of helping Donald Trump become president …. and they are still working to try to disrupt our processes to this day.

We need to do more to make sure our elections are free of foreign interference.

Did the Russians tell Clinton not to campaign in Wisconsin or Michigan, and only halfheartedly in Pennsylvania Mr. Fasolo?

Was it Russian voters who rejected Clinton in the 2008 democrat primaries? Where the Russians involved in rigging the democrat primaries in 2016 against Bernie Sanders, due to democrat voters likely rejecting her yet again?

At what point do party apparatchiks such as yourself, admit that Clinton was deeply flawed candidate?

Chris – are you truly discounting the work the Russians did to push the election to Trump? Are you seriously insulting their intelligences and efforts? You, of all people, should know how powerful social media is since your whole basis for everything you believe comes straight from Facebook memes.

As disappointing as it must be for you YN, I don’t do the corporate censored social media thing, especially creepy Facebook. Never have, never will.

As usual, my questions remain unanswered — Did the Russians somehow convince Clinton not to campaign in Wisconsin or Michigan? Did they send her a few facebook notes telling her not to? I’m pretty sure President Obama told us there was no way the 2016 elections were hacked. Could it possibly be that Clinton was just plain out a dismal candidate?

your stale talking points are exactly what the Russians accomplished
