Letter: Laura Berish, Hillsboro

Editor: Rose Ellen Ray’s letter to the editor offers a contrary point of view to the conclusions of the Mueller Report. I find her response to be worse than disappointing.

I had to research who Gregg Jarrett was, only to find he is a longtime Fox commentator who writes books that have “facts” that are repudiated. He is either a paid liar or a very sloppy researcher. I have no time to read his discredited book.

President Trump has not been cleared of any wrongdoing except on Fox Entertainment. He has not been falsely accused of anything. Mueller made clear he never considered he could investigate the president as the Justice Dept. has a ruling that a sitting president cannot be indicted. AG Barr has not repudiated the report which does conclude the Russians interfered in our election. It also outlines actions the president took which reasonable people can conclude is obstructionist. Barr did not tell the truth to the public about the report’s conclusions, yet it is still the Justice Dept.’s official report.

I shudder at how she depicts the CIA, Justice and FBI. What does Rose think of the other 15 intelligence agencies that also concluded that there was Russian interference in our election? None have altered their conclusions.

I love it when people discredit books they’ve never read. It displays all you need to know about the individual.

I am not sure how your “sloppy” and sweeping accusations/conclusions are productive? In your next letter, you might want to include some facts with decent citations. I realize jumping on the bandwagon is a lot easier than reading a book you wish to discredit based on the author being a lawyer and having worked at TV stations affiliated with NBC, ABC, and PBS ?
