Murder Suspect Found Dead in Ashburn Home

The suspect in a Washington, DC, homicide took his own life as federal authorities surrounded him in an Ashburn home Wednesday.

According to law enforcement reports, Peter Nhek Neth, 30, was wanted in Saturday’s fatal shooting of 37-year-old Richfield Chang at the Jenkins Row apartment complex on Pennsylvania Avenue. A female victim also was shot multiple times and is undergoing treatment.

On Wednesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found Neth in a Lamoreaux Landing Square home.

The Marshals Special Response Team and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Section reported to the scene, where a barricade situation occurred.

When officers entered the home, Neith was found dead from a self-inflicted injury, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
