Authorities are investigating the circumstances that contributed to the death of a worker at the site of the new Paul VI Catholic High School campus near South Riding.
The incident happened Monday afternoon when workers were installing lights at the baseball field.
One man fell into a hole dug for lighting footers and another fell in trying to rescue him. The first man was extricated by rescue crews, but was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was not seriously injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
