Man Charged with Attempted Murder after Shooting at Sterling Home

A Springfield man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting incident Thursday morning in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Mike Truong, 22, was charged with attempted murder, two counts of shooting at an occupied dwelling, and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Deputies were called to the area of Sugarland Square Court in Sterling around 1:55 a.m. July 25, for a report of gunfire. The victim reported that an acquaintance was shooting at her house while she and five other people were inside. Two rounds penetrated two homes. The suspect fled in a vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

Deputies located the vehicle in the area of Rt. 7 near Dranesville Road and conducted a traffic stop.

Truong was taken into custody without further incident. A firearm was located in the vehicle.

Truong was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
